Gerard Butler plays Mike Banning, former Presidential Secret Service agent who has been disgraced due to his failure to prevent the death of the First Lady, Margaret Asher, played by Ashley Judd. He happens to be inside the White House (code name ‘Olympus’), when a terrorist attack occurs and President Asher, played by Aaron Eckhart, is kidnapped.

The National Security Team must trust in Banning’s inside knowledge to try and avert an ever bigger disaster, they set to take the White House back, after inadvertently letting a North Korean terrorist mastermind inside the building. Angela Bassett plays Lynn Jacobs, the supportive head of the Secret Service, who tries to convince Banning that he did the right thing the night the first lady died. Morgan Freeman plays the reluctant, but outspoken Speaker of The House and the man that assumes power, Martin Trumbull, who fights Banning every step of the way.

With spectacular firefights and explosions, the movie is action packed and the great ensemble of familiar faces will draw the audience and keep them on the edge of their seat.

The score is being composed by Emmy Award winner, Canadian Trevor Morris, who is known for creating the soundtracks for popular television shows like The Borgias, The Pillars of The Earth and The Tudors.

Olympus Has Fallen was filmed on location in Shreveport, Louisiana in 2012 and is expected to be released in the US this coming March 22.
