Zack Snyder’s (‘300′) ‘Man of Steel’, the much anticipated remake of ‘Superman’, has received a PG-13 rating from the MPAA due to “intense sequences of sci-fi violence, action and destruction, and for some language.” Interesting…but not unexpected. The film seems realistic enough, so it might be too intense for some viewers.
The film stars British actor Henry Cavill in the title role, Oscar nominated Amy Adams as his love interest ‘Lois Lane’, Golden Globe winner Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as his adoptive earth parents, ‘Jonathan and Martha Kent’ and Russell Crowe as his real father, ‘Jor-El’. This promises to be a ‘darker’ version of the story, in which we see Superman going through some difficult times in his struggles to accept his true identity.
I don’t know about you all, but I am dying to see this movie, of course because Henry Cavill plays ‘Superman’ and I happen to be a big fan. Also because growing up, I have always thought Superman was the coolest superhero, my favorite superhero for sure, even before Henry was selected to play him.
Christopher Reeve used to come to mind when thinking of Superman, or Dean Cain, but now whenever I hear the name I think of Henry Cavill and how perfect he looks in that suit. I like how they have ‘modernized’ the suit, it’s fitting for a remake in the 21st century, I venture to say that there will be a lot of other eye catching things to look at.
So far there have been two trailers and some stills released officially, and we can expect more to start coming out as the date approaches. Watch this space for more details.
Henry Cavill, as ‘Superman’ in ‘Man of Steel’, will fly into theaters next June 14 in 2D, 3D and IMAX. Watch the latest trailer below.
