Royal wedding fever has the entire world in its grip. With the wedding just over a week away, almost every major news outlet in the world is amping up their coverage of the event with interviews, specials, and made-for-TV movies. With so much coverage it is easy to get wrapped up in the event, and sometimes we need something to bring us back down to reality for a little while.

An acapella group from St. Andrews University (where William and Kate met) has taken it upon themselves to lighten the mood a little bit and tell the story of how they wish the “royal romance” would have played out.

The talented group, called The Other Guys, takes some popular songs to plead to Kate to reconsider her decision to marry the prince. Shot on location at St. Andrews, they shimmy and shake their way across campus chasing the girl of their dreams.

As much as the news and these entertainment specials try to make William and Kate’s relationship seem normal (and for what it is I suppose it’s as normal as it gets), who would ever turn down the prince? Poor guy never stood a chance.

The royal wedding is a big deal, especially for our friends across the pond. However, it is important to remember that even though it is a momentous occasion, it is still the wedding of two young people who seem to be very much in love and are breaking the mold of the restraints commonly associated with royalty. Remembering this, and taking a little moment to smile instead of obsessing about what dress she will be wearing is important so as not to forget what it is all about.

What do you guys think of royal wedding fever? If it’s as overwhelming to you as it is for us, take a moment to watch the video and have a good chuckle.
