Former Price is Right Model Brandi Cochran is now about $777,000 richer and it is not from winning on the hit game show. The cash is from a lawsuit she filed against the show for how she was treated while pregnant and it looks like the court was on her side. You will be too once you hear her story.

41-year old Brandi filed a wrongful termination and treatment lawsuit against the long running game show. According to court documents when Cochran suffered a miscarriage a producer told her it was “nature’s way of getting rid of a bad baby”. Unfortunately for the brunette beauty that was just the beginning of cruelty that she would suffer at the hands of her employeer. When she became pregnant in 208 with twins she was often referred to as “wide load” in the halls of the show by the producers. When she attempted to return in early 2010 after her twins were born, she was rejected. Yesterday the Los Angeles Superior Court ruled in favor of the model that she was in fact not rehired because of her pregnancy. Cochran could still be awarded more money too if jurors determine that the producers acted maliciously. If that happens and it is decided she should get punitive damages for as much as $6 million. Holy moly that is some serious cash, here is hoping she gets it.

Other than this drama involving the game show, what is there to know about the woman who is standing up against an employer that treated her like crap? She was born and raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho with the name Brandi Sheerwood. Before becoming a model she spent time on the pageant circuit. At age 18 she became Miss Teen Idaho and went on to become Miss Teen USA. Years later she would become Miss Idaho. When she competed in the Miss USA pageant in 1997 she was the runner up, which ended up with her becoming Miss USA. When the winner of the 1997 pageant, Brook Mahealani Lee, was crowned Miss Universe Cochran took of the Miss USA title. To this day Cochran is the only person to have held the Miss Teen USA and Miss USA titles, that is pretty cool.

After her pageant days were done Brandi went on to try her hand at modeling, which eventually led her to Los Angeles where she met her husband movie actor Dean Cochran. The couple wed in 1999 and their twins were born in 2010. As it was indicated above she suffered a miscarriage before the birth of the twins.

It seems that finally Price Is Right model Brandi Cochran is getting some justice for the way she was treated during two of her pregnancies and her eventual termination. The court battle is not over yet but by the looks of it she is going to come out on top and I say good for her. Make sure you take a minute to look at the gallery photos and video below.

UPDATE: On November 21, 2012 Brandi was awarded $7 millon in punitive damages from the show. It seems the courts decided that there was plenty of wrong doing on the side of the show, congrats to Cochran.
