With the royal wedding just weeks away, the world is in full royal family frenzy, and everyone is trying to get a piece of the action. This includes an English couple who believe they have found the ultimate in royal collectibles: a jelly bean featuring soon-to-be princess Kate Middleton!
The couple discovered the mango flavored treat the other day while munching on the sweets and decided that the likeness was too uncanny to eat this particular bean, and instead decided to try and sell it!
The couple, Wesley Hosie and his girlfriend Jessica White, purchased some beans from The Jelly Bean Factory expecting they would have a nice, sweet snack. Instead, they found a royal treasure!
“As Jessica opened the jar, I saw her immediately. She was literally lying there staring back at me,” Hosie said. “Given that the royal wedding is only a few weeks away, we hope to make a few pounds out of it by selling it on the internet to a collector.”
Not that I can really blame them. Princess Diana memorabilia, especially right before her wedding to Prince Charles, fetched some serious cash. Now that her eldest son is about to tie the knot, his bride-to-be is quiet the hot commodity herself! A dress Kate Middleton wore recently went for more than $125,000, so why not try to make a buck off a jelly bean?
They are hoping to get 500 pounds (about $800) for the bean. People go crazy for these kinds of things, so it’s not unlikely that the pair will get a pretty penny for their discovery. I gotta say, there is a striking resemblance (check out the bean here)!
