Her name is Avalanna Routh but thanks to a dream meeting with her favorite pop singer she has become known to the world as Mrs. Justin Bieber. Sadly little Avalanna died today of a very rare form of cancer. Her story and meeting with the Biebs is a tear jerker but very inspiring.
As you can tell from the below photos there is nothing but love between Avalanna and Justin. The six year beauty, who was diagnosed with brain cancer when she was only eight months old, only had one wish to meet her idol. In fact she is such a fan of Biebers that she married him, well a card board cut of out him anyway. Her friends threw her w wedding where she wore a T-shirt that said “future Mrs. Justin Bieber”. After that she and others began campaigning to make her wish of meeting her favorite celebrity come true. On Valentines Day of this year the teen sensation made his number #1 fans dream a reality. He flew Routh and her family to New York City to spend the day with him. The two have been pals ever since as he and now pretty much everyone else refer to the lovely girl as Mrs. Justin Bieber, even on Twitter they call her that, it is pretty cool.
Avalanna suffered from a condition called Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor or AT/RT, which in simple terms is a very rare brain tumor. In fact the disease is so rare that only about 30 cases are diagnosed each year. Unfortunately it presents itself in childhood, meaning that it is a kids disease. The survival rate ironically depends on what age the tumor appeared in the child. According to the AT/RT website if diagnosed children diagnosed after the age of three have a higher survival rate than those diagnosed under the age of three, which is the case of Routh.
Sadly as I said above Justin’s biggest fan passed away today. The below message was posted on her Twitter account this morning.
Our darling Avalanna went to Heaven this morning. Oh Avalanna, the brightest star – you took our hearts with you, our greatest Love;(
There has been no comment from Justin or his camp yet on the passing of Routh. However given the fact that they have remained in touch since their New York City date it seems likely he will release some kind of statement later today.
It wasn’t just her time with Biebs that gained the little darling media attention. This year at Stand Up 2 Cancer event Jessica Biel shared Routh’s story. If you watched the show you know it was one of the most emotional stories told at that event. She may have only been six but Avalanna has inspired so many including myself. Every time I see a video about her or listen to her story again I can’t help but get a little misty eyed. If you missed the show you can watch the section on Avalanna in the below video.
RIP Avalanna Routh you will forever been know as Mrs. Justin Bieber the little girl who captured the hearts of so many and was taken away far to soon. Be sure to take glance at the below pictures of Avalanna with her idol.
Justin Bieber released the below message via Twitter regarding the passing of Avalanna.
“Just got the worst news ever. One of the greatest spirits I have ever known is gone. Please pray for her family and for her. RIP Avalanna. I love you. Please show respect to her and her family. Say a prayer for her and for them. I miss her.”
