The gorgeous blonde woman with model looks was found bleeding from the throat at the bottom of the stairwell. Carlisle Brigham (photos below) reached a tragic end to her life at the age of only 29 years old, the beautiful political prodigy and wife of a prominent banker who was known since their marriage a year ago as Carlisle Champalimaud. Authorities have ruled her death an accident from falling down the stairs.
The incident occurred around 10am in the morning on August 27th, 2012, when she was carrying groceries on the second floor of an apartment building. She apparently stumbled and fell down an entire flight of stairs cutting her head open in the process. There are mixed reports about whether she was drinking or not the night before, but I’m not sure why that is important because the accident occurred in the morning. You can read the latest update here.
Biography: Carlisle Brigham was just 29 years old and strikingly beautiful. She had already tasted ups and downs in her life and had good reason for sounding despondent. She was reportedly separated from her husband, Anthony Lindley Champalimaud, whom she had just married one year ago in 2011. He was reportedly been away on business in Great Britain when she fell.
Her father was James Brigham Jr, who happens to have been the budget director for the city of New York over 30 years ago. So she was known vaguely in the close political circles in the city as his daughter, and the news of her passing brought tears to the eyes of former mayor Ed Koch when he was told the news.
Like any bride the highlight of her life was marrying the man of her dreams, Anthony Champalimaud in August 2011. The wedding ceremony occurred in a beautiful church wedding at the St. George’s School chapel in Rhode Island, where he had graduated from some years earlier. You can read about her big wedding announcement here. He is a vice president for a multinational conglomerate based in Malaysia. Unfortunately things did not work out between them according to reports as she was living separately.
Carlisle herself was a graduate of the University of Mary Washington which is a small liberal arts college in the state of Virginia. After graduating she worked for the American Museum of Natural History in New York City up until May, 2012, where she was a curator for their paleontology exhibits. She was born in 1983 in St. Louis Missouri as Carlisle Vose Brigham.
On her Facebook page she had taken the surname of her husband as Carlisle Champalimaud. That page has been mysteriously deleted today but you can see a cached copy in the gallery. She was living separately from her husband at the time of her passing and visiting another man in a New York apartment if reports are to be believed.
On her LinkeDin page you can read here, Carlisle also goes by her married name. You can see that since leaving the museum job she listed herself as an independent designer. She had tons of experience in the art field including work overseas in Singapore, the location of her estranged husband’s business headquarters. More biographical information is there. You can read more about what happened to her here.
Meanwhile, we welcome any comments from those who knew Carlisle Brigham. Despite reportedly stumbling in marriage as Mrs. Carlisle Champalimaud like many of us do, she seemed to have her whole life in front of her.
