More bad news for Sylvester Stallone. His sister Toni-Ann Filiti has now passed away after a bout with lung cancer. She died over the weekend on Sunday night.
If you have been keeping track, Sly just lost his son to some very troubling circumstances. He was found among bottles of pills in an apparent overdose. Immediately rumors flew about drug dealing and substance abuse. Things got ugly, and it seemed like the media had finally moved on from it.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, now his half sister has passed away. Toni-Ann was already in the advanced stages of breast cancer, and things weren’t looking good for her. She was in ICU recently, but decided to spend time with family, moving in with she and Sly’s other for the last few days of her life.
A source told RadarOnline:
“She passed away last night and it was somewhat expected…after being in the ICU she decided she wanted to die in the house so she could spend time with her family.”
In pictures you can definitely see the resemblance. She has the dark hair and eyes, and strong jaw line.
Even sadder, NY Daily News managed to get a hold of their mother, who told the story of her passing away:
“I was holding her in my arms. I had just washed [her] face and told her how pretty she looked, and she just fell asleep…She’s too young to go, but she wasn’t feeling any pain…What a terrible month. First Sage and now Toni. It’s hard. At least they’re together now in heaven.”
The devastated famous half-brother apparently was beside himself when he got the news. He vowed to always take care of his nephew.
As for their mother, she was trying desperately to encourage Toni-Ann Filiti to fight. She even told her that they could fly to Paris and rent a place for a while so she could recover.
Sadly, none of that will take place. We just hope things get better for the Stallone family.
