She has won the admiration of countless people around the world for her bravery in the face of danger. Meet Lexi De Forest (photos below), the Colorado hiker who broke her ankle while hiking in the Wyoming outback. She made a heroic video while she was suffering to take her mind off of the pain.
You can watch Lexi’s video in its entirety below. She explains to viewers that she made the video in order to kill time and focus on something other than misery. As she was shooting, her hiking companion dude named Erik Henry was running off for help. Yes sorry boys. This beautiful woman was indeed with a guy on this camping trip. He attends school with Lexi while working for a management company that helps homeowners associations in the area. Like Miss De Forest, he loves the outdoors.
The accident occurred at dusk around 8pm at night so she had no way of knowing if his rescue effort would be successful. There she lay alone, unable to move and unsure if anyone would return to save her that night. The video she made has been admired by countless people as the heroic woman shows a sense of humor while helping us all feel her anguish in such awful circumstances.
Biography: Alexandra “Lexi” De Forest is a senior at Colorado State University. She is 21 years old with her whole life ahead of her. Someday she may have children, who will undoubtedly be so proud of mom when they are old enough to appreciate her courage.
She is originally a California girl hailing from the hip southern California beach town of Manhattan Beach. She graduated from Mira Costa high school in 2008 before enrolling at Colorado State which is very near Fort Collins where she lives today. Lexi is 5’6″ tall according to her MySpace profile which you can find here. We understand that Lexi loves fashion and running and just about any outdoor activity.
Her rescue came while she was filming so you can sense her euphoria as the knights in shining white armor came to her side. She was airlifted by helicopter to a trauma center in Loveland, Colorado, where she spent the night and was released the next day after surgery to put her foot back where in belongs.
