California special needs teacher Kelly McKenzy Watson has been arrested for having a sexual relationship with a student. Yes she is one of those people.
According to the Daily Mail San Diego police were tipped off to the inappropriate relationship on Thursday and arrested Watson at that time. Kelly has been accused of having sex with a 17-year old boy she taught while working at the residential New Haven Youth and Family Services in Vista, Los Angeles, where she worked from September 2010 to August 2011. There she worked with boys who were emotionally disturbed. She sounds like a real winner huh, seriously who does that.
After the 34-year old transferred to Oceanside, where she was currently working until Thursday, Watson started dating the boy she met while working at her previous job. Obviously because the boy is a minor his name has not yet been released.
It is also unclear how serious the relationship was but what we do know is Kelly is spending her weekend in jail. She has been charged with unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and will be arraigned on Monday. The 34-year has been suspended from teaching until further notice. That basically means that it depends on what happens with her criminal case.
The New Haven CEO Doreen Quinn spoke out about the allegations against Watson and said the school did not believe they were true. Quinn went on to say that she was not only distraught but also dismayed as well by the findings that led to Kelly being arrested, sounds like Doreen is standing by her former co-worker.
Only time will tell how this case will unfold but things don’t look too good for the former teacher. Speaking of her, she has yet to release any kind of statement regarding what she is being accused of but I think that will change tomorrow. This is one hot and controversial topic so let me know what you have to say about it.
