There are several smart phones apps available this year to make your Oscar viewing experience as interactive as possible so you don’t miss a single second of all the glitz and star-studded glam that comes along with the Academy Awards.
First up, there is The Oscars App, which is the official application of the Academy Awards. It boasts two sections: The Oscars, which allows you to make predictions and keep track of results, and The Academy, which allows you view archives from past awards and get up-to-date news on the Academy Awards. Best of all, this app is free!
Want a second screen while watching the Oscars? Use Zeebox. The app shows what’s hot on TV by displaying what is playing now as well as what is up next. You can book channels to watch, intact with friends and use your phone as a remote. This app is all about keeping you in the loop, the easiest way possible.
Similar to The Oscars App, Vanity Fair Hollywood: Oscars Edition lets you watch the trailers for the nominees, make predictions, and keep score of which guesses are right!

More interested in what’s going on behind the scenes? Download Oscar Backstage Pass. This application will cost you $.99, but you get access to behind-the-scenes camera rolling at the ceremony, on the red carpet, and much more!

And just for fun, Guess the Movie. This app, developed by Jinfra, will put your movie knowledge to the test. There are several categories broken down by level. Once you select a category, the app displays a series of tiles with cartoon-like images that function as a clue to the answer.
