Alex Morgan’s goal (video below) in the USA Canada soccer match was unreal. She hit a goal in extra time, which gave the women’s team just the victory they needed to keep their hopes of a gold medal alive.

It was supposed to be an easy victory. The Team USA women were set to walk all over Team Canada to give themselves a gold medal berth. But for some reason Canada came to play. As a result it took a mircale.
The two teams had been going at for over 120 minutes. They were actually in the third minute of stoppage in the second round of extra time.
Something had to give. The suspense was way too much for anyone who has followed the team to handle.
You have to remember that the USA women’s team has the No. 2 and No. 3 highest scoring soccer players in the world. That includes Abby Wombach, who was recently pummeled in the face during a match against Spain, and Sinclair who both have over 142 goals.
But neither of them could get it done today. Instead it was an assist by Alex Morgan. She pulled off an amazing header off of a kick by Heather O’Reilly. It was amazing.
The kick came from far off to the right side, and Morgan timed her jump just right. The ball sailed just over the top of the Team Canada defenders and the goalie who seemed to read the whole play from the beginning.
Now thanks to the amazing win, the women’s team has a shot at Olympic gold. They have now advanced to the semi-finals.
