Earlier this year it was announced that Jeremy Renner would appear in this summer’s comic book film Thor. Renner is one of the main cast members who’ll appear in 2012′s epic team up movie The Avengers which will include Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, The Hulk, Nick Fury and Hawkeye. Marvel has created a timeline between the individual character films that are leading up to the movie.
Nick Fury made an appearance in Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. appeared in The Incredible Hulk, and Thor’s hammer popped up at the end of Iron Man 2. Next month Thor will hit the big screen and Renner’s Hawkeye will continue the tradition by making a cameo.
A short clip from Thor has debuted online and it features a blink and you will miss him shot of Hawkeye. Seriously, you WILL miss him if you don’t stare at the screen the entire time. Hawkeye’s government name is Clint Barton and he’s a master with a bow and arrow. He’s the Marvel universe’s equivalent to Green Arrow in the DC Comics universe.
If you watch the following clip, you shouldn’t feel jilted or spoiled because there’s more to the story. At this year’s CinemaCon event an additional 10 – 15 minutes of Thor was shown to the attending audience and according to insiders, there’s a lot more of Renner in the film. In the video the studio released there’s a small cut away of him in a hood and dark suit. In the CinemaCon footage Renner’s face actually appeared onscreen.
These cameos have become one of the most fun things about the Marvel movies. With Hawkeye in Thor, who do you think will pop up in Captain America? It would only make sense if it was Bruce Banner aka The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). He’s the only character who hasn’t done a crossover. Let’s do it!
