Jessica Redfield, Batman Massacre victim, had a very close run in during another shooting at a public place a little over a month ago. Sadly, this time around, she was killed by a gunman.

By now everyone has heard of the sickening shooting that took place at a movie theater during the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises. A crazed guy opened fire with multiple different guns, leaving at least a dozen people dead and many others wounded in a crowded movie theater.

One of those people was Redfield, some people are calling her Jessica Ghawi, who had dreams of becoming a sports reporter. The crazy thing is that she was just at a mall back in June where another fatal shooting took place. Apparently she decided to eat a burger instead of sushi, which put her in a different part of the mall. On top of that, she ended up going out for fresh air, which caused her to avoid being inside during the shooting, which left one person dead:

On her blog, she wrote:

“Had I had sushi, I would’ve been in the same place where one of the victims was found.”

She also used social media to talk about going to the premiere of Dark Knight Rises. On Twitter, she talked about how she had to convince someone to go with her, and that she was waiting for the movie to start.

It is so eerie to me, to read the last words written by a person who was murdered for no reason. The last thing she wrote was:

“MOVIE DOESN’T START FOR 20 MINUTES.”

It’s not something that anyone could have predicted, and it’s hard to believe that it’s the second time she was at the wrong place at the wrong time. That particular Tweet was sent to a guy named Jesse Spector, who is a pro sports writer. After finding out she was killed, he Tweeted:

“Just wanted to share my condolences. Devastating even having mostly known Jessica through Twitter. I can only imagine for you.”

He also wrote a dedication to her that includes a mention of their last Tweet. In that piece, he said she was “sharp, funny, enthusiastic and had the kind of passion for sports and journalism that makes people succeed.”

So what else do we know about Jessica Redfield, and why is she viral? To me I think it’s because she is a face that we can attach to the victims. She was someone who decided to put her personal thoughts online all the way up until the killing. She seems like she was a fun person, with a few Instagram pictures of her partying.

She now has over 13,000 followers on Twitter, where she describes herself like this:

“You can find me in the TV studio, NHL arena/ locker room, on a plane, or writing. Southern. Sarcastic. Sass.Class.Crass. Grammar snob”

My thoughts go out to her friends and family. Below you’ll find some Jessica Ghawi photos to look at.
