Porschla Coleman is Jason Kidd’s wife, and I’m guessing she isn’t too pleased with her hubby’s antics this weekend. She must have been home asleep when the NBA star nearly killed himself on the way home after allegedly driving after too much to drink.
Everyone knows the story by now: the New York Knicks star was at a charity event meeting up with George Lucas and Paula Abdul and drinking a bunch of free drinks. He didn’t want to go home with his wife, so instead he joined some friends at nightclub called SL East.
Sources at the club say he was drinking a bunch of vodka and even going into the DJ booth for a shout out. It sounds like a nice night out, but where was Porschla Coleman to tell him to calm down?
Well she was probably checking the clock waiting for him.
You might recognize Porschla as one of the woman who used to date Russell Simmons. She also works for BET and has done a few small movie/television show appearances. The funny thing is that most of her appearances are for roles that are called “female dancer.” You know what that means. When the movie or show has a quick scene in a club, she is one of the random girls you see dancing.
It sounds like she is smarter than that though. She actually went to a few well respected fine arts schools in California, and I’m guessing she has real aspirations of making it in show business.
The 26-year-old has even been called a singer/songwriter, but I had a hard time finding anything she actually made that was actually made on an album. Most of her big television parts have been as a host or on air personality with BET, where she was on shows like 106 & Park, Notorized, and Spring Bling. Her most serious hosting job was to be the co-host of a Maury episode.
My favorite part about her is that she does a lot of charity work. Obviously the night of Jason Kidd’s arrest they were at a charity event in the first place for foster kids. Besides that she has done work Heart of Africa and even Knowledge is power.
I think she just needs a breakout role and she could actually make it big. Hopefully she can get her husband to calm down before he ruins his career.
