The thought police are out in full force again professing shock that Madonna’s daughter did something entirely normal. Lourdes Leon’s Twitter picture of herself in a “cone bra” quickly went viral on the internet, creating a firestorm of faux controversy. The cone bra photo was quickly deleted but not fast enough to prevent everyone and their brother from playing mommy for the day.

My advice to those who obsess with what celebrities do is go find something better to do especially when it comes to raising their kids. A fifteen year old teenager posting pictures of herself in a famous bra is nobody’s business but her own and that of her mom. She isn’t drinking, she isn’t sexting, she isn’t drugged out, and she isn’t posting naked photos. Go check after your own teenagers who chances are probably doing far worse things than posting innocent Twitter pictures.
From all appearances her famous mother is doing a lot right. Lourdes Leon does not have the kinds of problems that are prevalent among the stars. My theory is that is because her mom has her own head screwed on perfectly normal. She never engaged in self-destructive behavior that we see repeated time and time again by others who achieved fame. Yes she is a sexual icon of epic proportions, skirting the limits of decency in a culture that for the longest time obsessed with covering up the female body.
Thanks to Lourdes’s mom, those days are largely in the past. And if she too wants to begin exhibiting her own sexuality as artists are free to do today, just let her express herself. Although some people in our culture still believe human sexuality is somehow bad, I have news for you. It isn’t a problem for you.
