Lindsay Lohan is once again trying to make a comeback. The actress has had her fair share of legal problems in the past, which included drugs, alcohol, and most recently alleged theft. Last year she made a small appearance in Robert Rodriguez’s exploitation flick Machete and she received positive reviews for her performance, which made some of us think she was on the rebound.

Shortly after Machete there was word that Lohan would also star in a biopic about adult movie star Linda Lovelace but that deal fell through thanks to her impeding legal troubles. The film shoot conflicted with one of her many trails and the producers ended up replacing her with another actress. Today we’re hearing that she’s been offered another biopic role and this time it centers on one of America’s former sweethearts — Sharon Tate.

If the name Sharon Tate sounds familiar to you, it should. She was an up and coming actress in the 1960′s who happened to be the wife of acclaimed directed Roman Polanski. Unfortunately, Tate’s biggest claim to fame wasn’t her talent but her murder. She along with several of her friends were brutally killed by members of the Manson family in August 1969. At the time of her death she was pregnant with Polanski’s child.

Photographer Tyler Shields, who’s a close friend of Lohan claims that she’s in talks to play Tate in the film entitled Eyes of a Dreamer. He didn’t confirm that she was cast but he stated, if “the timing is right, it will happen.” We’re all for giving Lohan another chance but does she even have what it takes to play Tate? Even on her best day she’s nowhere near as talented as the late actress.

The last time we tried to give the actress a chance she ended up getting arrested. If Lohan could stay on the straight and narrow it would be a lot easier to picture her in more substantial roles. Many directors won’t hire her for work because she’s seen as an insurance hazard for the production companies. Eyes of a Dreamer doesn’t appear to be a major studio project but a labor of love for Shields. With that being said, how much of her casting would be dependent on her talent and how much would be based on their friendship? Can she really pull off this role, or is he doing her a favor?
