Alexis Welch is now Amar’e Stoudemire’s wife, known forever more until death do us part as Alexis Stoudemire! Amar’e proposed to Alexis with a $1 million 3.5 karat flawless diamond engagement ring which is set in 18-karat white gold! You can see the pictures to drool over here.

Of course it was quite the romantic proposal too, the couple had just done a historical tour of Paris and headed to the luxury Le Meurice Hotel, where they overlooked the Eifel Tower from the private terrace of their Penthouse.

Amar’e has been linked to Ciara and some other beautiful women but his love for Alexis is not old news. She is the mother of their three children, Amar’e Jr., 5, Ar’e, 6, and Assata, 4, who were also on vacation with them. I am sure they are excited for their parents!

Welch’s engagement ring was designed by celebrity jeweler Shayan Afshar, who told People Magazine, “It was important for Amar’e that the ring was classic but modern at the same time. He wanted to ensure that the setting complemented the stone rather than take away from it. Alexis was the inspiration. He was looking for a minimalistic setting and he wanted her to love it. We played with a few options. We rushed to finish up the ring so that he could take it with him to Paris.”

Stoudemire is thrilled about his engagement and posted on Twitter : “When she said yes, it was surreal. I’m still floating. #engaged.”

So cute!! A rep for the couple says they plan to marry sometime in 2013. If the ring alone was $1million can you imagine what they will spend on the wedding? Whew, that will be one event I will be dying to see pictures of!
