Manchester City player Mario Balotelli has no trouble convincing women into going on a date with him, but perhaps Lauren Thorne is the one that got away from Balo’s claws as she talked to British media about her encounter with the Italian soccer player.
According to an article published by the Sun, Lauren Thorne was flattered to be asked on a date by Mario Balotelli. But being flattered by a famous soccer player’s attention was not enough to convinced the young British waitress to accept the invitation of man she knew nothing about. If she was one of us who kept track of soccer WAGs, she might know he was dating sexy model Raffaella Fico until recently when a rumor about a certain two-year affair with Chloe Evans was revealed. And let’s not forget he admitted bedding Wayne Rooney’s alleged escort Jenny Thompson.
Or maybe Ms. Thorne is not interested in having a roller coaster ride in the footballers bed. His alleged mistress said after she met him he bombarded her with tweets until she finally accepted a date with him — lucky girl because he then gave her a diamond bracelet. But enough about the ladies that did went out with him. What about that one that passed on him?
19 year-old Lauren Thorne is an aspiring singer currently waiting tables at The Old Rectory Hotel in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. She said that she got off from her job at about 8:00 p.m one evening and got in her car and drove home. But just seconds before she opened the door there was a knock on the window. It was a tall, fit man wearing the biggest smile on his face. Lauren said she didn’t recognized him and was about to shut him down when her uncle (apparently a big Manchester fan) stopped her.
He was invited into her home where he sat in the living room and chatted with her uncle about soccer. During his impromptu visit at the house he asked her on a date three times, and each time she did not accept. The reason? She knew by then that he had a girlfriend.
“I knew he had a girlfriend and I have no interest in going out with a footballer and being a WAG.”
Good girl Lauren, but I think for a diamond bracelet you might have gotten him more interested in you, right?
