Hollywood marriages are a lesson in different strokes for different folks. So it is for Dori Bridges, whose life as B-list actor Todd Bridges’s wife appears to be over according to his Twitter account.

He is the childhood star of that old 1970s sitcom, Diff’rent Strokes, and more recently appeared in a show nobody has heard of called Everybody Hates Chris. Maybe his wife hates him now. Who could blame her because she has been through so much by his side. Twenty years ago he was arrested for cocaine possession and once stood trial for shooting a drug dealer named Kenneth “Tex” Clay at a crack house, a charge for which he was found not guilty. His battle as a crack cocaine addict are well documented. Such is how former child stars often reach their low points, but Todd has rebounded nicely recently in his acting career and spiritual life. He even wrote a book about his past sins and recovery.

But his personal life with Dori Bridges has not rebounded unfortunately and that is too bad. On May 25th he announced a split saying “She’s [Dori is] a great mother. I’m glad to have had the years to know her and have a great kid with her. As we know, people grow apart and we did.” Later he waxed poetically, with one of his frequent religious tweets. “Life is full of changes. God allows them to better your life. Either you except his changes now or you painfully deal with them. GOD has you.”

Dori’s Facebook page is right here but we have been unable to find a Twitter page, assuming she has one at all. We normally like to link them so that our readers can get to know the personalities better, so help us in the comments if you are able. We do know that she was an actress herself of some note, having appeared in the TV movie Diff’rent Strokes, and a few other films. You can see her filmography here.

But movies are not the way she earns a living anymore and she never let the roles affect her personal life like her husband did. Dori has been working as a special education assistant for six years in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Such work requires a special person as it is both rewarding and trying on the nerves. Late in 2011 she also became a director for a wellness company called Melaleuca where she sets up online shopping accounts. With her wonderful fashion taste and fit body that seems like a natural fit.

Mrs. Bridges graduated as an English major from Jacksonville State University in Alabama. She graduated high school in 1993 from Trion High School in Trion, Georgia. If you guessed she is a southern girl at heart, you would be right. We cannot find her birthday but the math suggests she is about 36 years old this year.

Dori married her actor husband in 1998 and the couple had one son together. Spencir Bridges was born in that same year as the wedding, on July 16th, 1998. He is also a child actor (unfortunate I think) who has appeared on the smash teen show “I Carly” and in a bit part in one movie. Spencir will be 14 years old later this year. You can see his photo below and watch the video with mom on stage.

She appears to have already moved on in her life. There are only two photos of her husband on her Facebook page (with her kids), and none of her on his Facebook or Twitter pages. Although he says they remain friends, they have not friended each other on social media so there is obviously more to this story than the public face of it all. And that’s okay. It’s not really anyone’s business but her own.

You can see in Dori Bridges’ pictures that she looks absolutely fantastic and exudes confidence and joy. She looks great in jeans and knows how to work her hair to fit her fashion look. Dori is a fun person who likes to hang with people who make her laugh. “I like to express my creativity through writing, singing, acting, and work. I’m a lover, and I love deeply. I like to be liked and I love to have fun and I also love to meet people who love to laugh.”

It shows. By the way she is strictly heterosexual. We do not know if she is in a new relationship but normally these things take time for a well adjusted woman like Dori. We wish her all the success in her future career and life movin’ on.
