Although Miley Çyrus’ dress at the BBMA’s might have stole the attention on the red carpet, we can dutifully report that the evening did continue and winners were announced from the nominations in each category. So below is the list of winners at the Billboard Music Awards that occurred this year in 2012.

As expected Adele ran away with the lion’s share of the awards, winning an incredible seven categories including Top Artist and Top Female Artist. In my book she is now officially overexposed. She is everywhere and everything, to all people, all of the time, and now I find myself changing channels when her songs come on the radio every thirty minutes. It’s getting old fast.
Top Group went to LMFAO, which I consider a bit of a joke. Yes their YouTube video has one trillion views or something, but c’mon they aren’t that sexy and you know it. One thing that wasn’t a joke was Natasha Bedingfield at the BBMA’s. She looked absolutely stunning in that black dress, but it was a shame the her song tribute to Donna Summer was cut off by the idiots at the network. Katy Perry, on the other hand, looked like my grandma in the purple potato sack dress.
Lil Wayne won Top Rap Artist and Top Male Artist so it was a good night for the rapper. Ditto for Coldplay which won Best Alternative Artist and Top Rock Artist. I was particularly happy to see Shakira win Top Latin Artist, so hopefully this will resurrect her career going forward. And thankfully, the bore Lady Gaga only took home one award as Top Dance Artist, as did Justin Bieber.
