Something feels creepy around Camelot today. We know that her famous husband returned to the barn where she hung herself, confirmed by the autopsy results today, and now we learn that Mary Kennedy’s children (photos below) may have been embroiled in a custody dispute with RFK Jr during their divorce proceedings. We’ll tell you about her children in a minute. But first let’s say that the image getting painted unfairly in the media is that he drove her to suicide, and that is not a legacy that any Kennedy needs hanging around whether or not there is a grain of truth in it.

At a time like this Mary Kennedy’s family should be coming together to grieve, but we hear that her sisters were ordered off the property where she lived by Robert Kennedy after she died. I’m appalled if that is true. We can’t know where anyone’s head would be during such a grieving period. Everyone handles stress differently, but if these reports are correct he is coming out unnecessarily as the bad guy, which just compounds the storyline of a powerful husband dumping a wife with difficult problems. Someday Mary Kennedy’s kids will get to speak for themselves. We don’t know how they feel about mommy today, but mothers are usually the ones children feel closest to in life. That is the traditional role of a mom, to be the caretaker and nurturer while the husband brings home the bacon. She suffered from lifelong depression which apparently was not adequately addressed with medications. She had an alcohol problem that she was reportedly recovering from, and prescription drug problems as well.

All of that must have created difficult circumstances in the home for her kids and husband alike. Some husbands love their wives so much that they honor their marriage vows for better or worse. Some can’t cope in the face of such difficulties. Particularly in the case of a bigshot like RFK, getting out from under her demons was probably an attractive idea at the end. Nobody can blame him. But now Mary Kennedy’s children need everyone acting like responsible grownups.

About her family life, we know that she married RFK Jr on April 15, 1994, on a boat in the Hudson River which is about as romantic as things can get. He was previously married to a woman named Emily Ruth Black from 1982 to 1994. And yes the exact dates are interesting. He divorced Emily on March 25th and married Mary on April 15th.

The earlier marriage with Emily Ruth Black produced two children, including his legacy son Robert F. Kennedy III born in 1984. A daughter was born in 1988 named Kathleen Alexandra Kennedy.

So Mary Kennedy married 18 years ago, and in that timeframe since the couple created a bustling new family of four additional beautiful children together, three boys and one daughter. Mary Kennedy’s sons are named Conor, William, and Aiden. Conor Richardson Kennedy was born in 1994 while William Finbar Kennedy was born in 1997 and Aiden Caohman Vieques Kennedy was born in 2001. And if you are observing that 1994 was a busy year for this Catholic family, you would not be mistaken.

Kennedy’s daughter is named Kyra LeMoyne Kennedy. She was born in 1995 and is now just 16 years old about to enter her senior year in high school. All told the four Kennedy kids range in age from 10-17.
