She stood behind her man for the last eleven years of his life, the hairdresser to the stars who was the most famous stylist in the world at the time of his passing from leukemia in Los Angeles, California. Now Rhonda Sassoon stands alone and our hearts go out to her and his surviving family members for which there are many.
He of course is the inventor of the “Bob” haircut, one of the most iconic hairstyles in American culture. You can study the video below to learn how to get one. He used his success to open a chain of salons, and became so integral with trends in American fashion that a full-length documentary was made about his life.
From what we know of her biography, Rhonda C. Sassoon was married to her famous husband in 1991 so they were together for eleven years until his passing this year. You can see another photo of them together here where she is sporting an impressive fur coat. He was previously married to a model named Jeanette Hartford-Davis, and before that an actress named Beverly Adams with whom he had four children together even though they were only married for thirteen years.
His sons names are Elan and David, while he has one surviving daughter named Eden. Another daughter, his beloved Catya Sassoon, died of a heart attack on New Year’s eve in 2001. She was 34 years of age and a gorgeous model. You can see her photo in the gallery at the bottom. Sassoon’s first wife was Elaine Wood who only stayed with him for two years.
So Rhonda Sassoon was his fourth wife, and she had no children with him. She is a Democrat who supported Barack Obama, Howard Dean and John Kerry in presidential elections, and local Los Angeles mayoral candidates. You can read about her campaign donations here and here.
Rhonda is living in their mansion in Beverly Hills now, and no spring chicken. She is “retired” which is just what any girl ought to be who is married to a gazillionaire. You can see in the photo that Rhonda has fabulous hair herself. We wonder if she has had plastic surgery or a facelift. She looks just great but the lines in her neck don’t quite match up to her pretty face.
You can see a video below of an attractive model sporting the Sassoon haircut. His passing will undoubtedly inspire a wave of bob haircuts in the near future. As for Rhonda Sassoon, she must be terribly proud of her husband’s legacy. Vidal Sassoon’s wife is soldiering on alone now, but we hope that his vast estate takes good care of her and the children for the rest of their lives.
