The kids of two powerhouse Hollywood celebrities hooked up at their senior prom this week and lived to tell about it. Jade Iovine is Jimmy Iovine’s daughter, the character on American Idol who started appearing last season as the mentor who is paid homage to each week by the contestants, as if they are groupies visiting Graceland.

And who was her hot date? None other than Patrick Schwarzenegger himself, the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, who is rapidly becoming one of the most eligible bachelors in Hollywood. All the chicks in the Los Angeles scene are aching for a date with the young lad, and lucky Jade got the biggest one of his life. She was asked out on prom night at the school they attend together, and she said yes yes, and I do.

Jade Iovine’s big night out occurred in Santa Monica on April 28th at the elegant Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica, just a stone’s throw northeast of the big city lights. He tweeted the picture from his Twitter account which said “Prom with my best friend @jadeiovine.” Only so much can be said in a 128 character tweet, so the rest is left up to our imaginations. By the way, he is taking a dig at his dad over there by changing his name to Patrick Shriver, switching over to mom’s team.

Biography: Jade Iovine is an 18-year old senior in high school, just a few days away from her graduation day. Her high profile dad is Jimmy Iovine, who was a powerhouse in the music industry before his silly American Idol gig. He is the Chairman and CEO of Interscope Geffen A&M Records. Her gorgeous Mom is Vicki Iovine, who is a writer and former centerfold model. Mom was Playboy’s Playmate of the Month in September, 1979 when she was known as Vicki McCarty before hitching up. Unfortunately Jade’s fun parents divorced three years ago.

Jade is the youngest of four children. Her brothers James and Jeremy, and sister Jessica, all attended the same pricey Brentwood School in Los Angeles before her. She has a mind for politics. Miss Iovine was a member of the student body governing council at her school every year she attended the upper division (high school). And just to show how well rounded she is, we can report that Jade was on the cheerleader squad for three years. She is also a dancer! Jade danced in the Brentwood Dance Company for three years.

Much more importantly, Jade Iovine is a socially-conscious young woman who is active in local community groups already. In fact she co-organized a conference at a the Brentwood School, which was designed to help young women students learn how to empower themselves. Maria Shriver was the honorary chair of that event. Jade explains that she was bullied as an 8th grader at the school and ostracized by her cliche of friends at the school. Everyone girl who has gone through that in their lives knows how depressing and terrifying it can be. Things got so bad for her that she was afraid to go to school and dreaded every moment of her school day that year. Things got better the next year but rather than leave well enough alone Jade decided to help other girls in similar situations. She formed the Girl’s Group at Brentwood for girls at the school aged 14-18, which met regularly and later spawned the conference. Good for you, Jade.

And no, she is not Patrick Schwarzenegger’s girlfriend, at least not in a biblical sense. The two are just good friends, and indeed the two famous families are close. Jade Iovine also hangs out with Schwarzenegger’s daughter, who is the stunningly beautiful Katherine Schwarzenegger.
