Her modeling jobs began at the age of 12, and in the seven years since she was a new IT girl, with a fresh face and figure that fashion magazines craved. And that look was her eventual ruin, as the industry craves ever more thin figures to glossy up their pages. As an impressionable girl with a career she desperately craved, Bethaney turned anorexic to keep off the weight.

Biography: Bethaney Anne Wallace is from the town of Newmarket, Suffolk County in England, where she grew up as the daughter of two perfectly normal parents and a sister named Shari. She attended school at the Hills Road Sixth Form college in Cambridge, England.

Bethaney began to model at the age of 12 years old, appearing in teen magazines such as Popgirl, Make it Groovy, and BBC’s Girl Talk. A lot of young teens start modeling careers without developing problems like her’s, but as a parent it gives one pause for thought if such pursuits should be allowed by our impressionable children.

Her heartbroken parents are named Cathy and Clive Wallace. They watched her eating disorder develop beginning around the age of 16 and when it became a serious problem it was too late to help her. Once Bethaney Wallace turned 18 years of age, the doctors told them she was an adult and could do what she wanted.

Bethaney’s obituary can be read here. She died on Aril 18th, 2012 but the funeral service will not be held until May 5th, 2012. Miss Wallace reportedly weighed just 84 pounds, but we have not been able to confirm her exact measurements, height or dress size.

Her Facebook page can be found here and her Twitter page is here. You can tell that she had a lot of friends who hung out with her like normal teenagers. On her last day before she passed away, Bethaney tweeted that she had just enjoyed a relaxing soak in the jacuzzi. She went to bed that night and never woke up.

Please comment on this story and answer this question first. Would you allow your own teenage daughter to model?
