It is not everyday that you see a home plate umpire tackle a fan who is a drunken lout. Here is the video of Jeff Kellogg tackling a streaking fan in a baseball game between the Baltimore Orioles and Oakland A’s on April 27th, 2012.
The incident occurred in the bottom of the 7th inning in Camden Yards, Baltimore, with the Orioles batting and Oakland playing the field. The unnamed fan emerged shirtless from the stands with a big smile on his face and paraded around the field like an idiot. Then he lived out the lifelong dream of his useless life by heroically racing home from third base and sliding head first into home plan with a whopping belly dive. That must have hurt.
Or did it? Did I mention is was Friday night? That means drinking at the old ballpark, heavy drinking, and this streaking fan was undoubtedly heavily drunk. He probably didn’t feel a thing. In fact when Jeff Kellogg tackled him, he still had the same goofy clueless smile on his face.
Anyway see the video below. Umpire Jeff Kellogg tackles the drunk fan with a perfect wrestling move. He bear hugs him from behind and slams him to the ground. Bully for you, mister umpire sir. The most hilarious part for me is the Oakland Athletics catcher never stirs from his professional crouch position. What a gamer!
After the perfect takedown, you can see stadium police in Baltimore tasering the drunken fan which appears to have no effect on the moron. He keeps smiling away like a useless waste of skin until they finally handcuff him and move on with the baseball game, which Baltimore eventually lost.
Although they are calling this fan a “streaker” that is only a half-truth because you can plainly see in the video that the man is still half-dressed. To be a streaker you really have to be displaying a Full Monty. Everyone knows that.
So watch both videos for two different views of the incident and blow up the pictures if you want.
