This story infuriates me but I will try to present the unbiased facts to you, as best we know them. Rebecca Burgin is a beautiful young woman in the prime of her life. She says that she was infected with the HIV virus when she was Democrat politician Jay Parmley’s girlfriend.

He of course is the former executive director of the North Carolina Democratic Party who resigned in disgrace because of a scandal last week. He was accused of sexual harassment by a male staff member named Adriadn Ortega. He complained that Parmley showed him pictures of his winky tinky, touching him inappropriately, and talking about gay websites he liked to visits. He denied the allegations but quit anyway.

Now steps forward Rebecca Burgin who says that he infected her with the HIV virus when she was Parmley’s girlfriend for three years. She has had to live with the virus for years, somehow moving on with her life while coping with medical bills.

Rebecca is coming forward now in the wake of Adriadn Ortega’s allegations because she thinks men and woman have something to fear from her ex-boyfriend. He may have infected other people, she worries, so she is coming forth to warn the public.

“After Jay and I broke up the biggest concern that I had was what if this happened to somebody else? My biggest concern is for anybody else that has had a relationship with him that he did not tell.”

We don’t know if Jay is gay or bisexual. That isn’t the point. She says that they had sex for three years without him telling her he was HIV positive. He finally told her when he got very sick, she says, at the end of their relationship. She broke off the relationship at that point but kept quiet until now.

Biography: Rebecca Burgin is now 29 years old and lives in Norman, Oklahoma, where she goes by Becca Burgin to her friends. She was born in Oklahoma City and has spent most of her life there, graduating from the University of Oklahoma six years ago with a masters degree in health sciences.

Becca is socially conscious and works on local political causes such as the One Oklahoma Coalition where she was a field representative.
