Meet Venus Palermo, who is known as a Living Doll who goes by the pseudonym of Venus Angelic in her online persona on Youtube. See her photos and video here, and read about the new Living Doll Barbie craze that is upsetting some parents around the world.

From what we know of her biography, Venus Palerma (i.e. Angelic) is 15 years old and lived in Japan for a while. While there she witnessed the anime (animation) characters that are popular in Japanese cartoons and culture. She began to dress herself up and apply makeup that mimicked the perfection of these characters. Despite what her Facebook page says, she has left Japan and now resides in London England constantly dressed as a doll. On her Linkedin page Venus Palermo describes herself as a singer, dancer, YouTuber, model, actress, and well, a guru too.

On her official website she lists her favorite movie as a Japanese anime movie called Tonari no Totoro. Read more about her here. On her Facebook page we learn that she also likes Japanese music. What is lacking in details there is made up in a cache of photos and advice.

Her Youtube channel has almost 80 videos devoted to her transformations in dress, makeup, hair style and even nail polish. She is very popular among young girls her age and older who want to apply her techniques themselves. Collectively her videos have over 10 million Youtube views. Her Facebook page has over 10,000 followers.

She likes to talk in a pipsqueaky voice that can grate on your nerves if you don’t completely adore her. She is fond of saying things like “Hello my dolly molly inky pinky cotton candy clouds” in a feigned five-year old girl’s voice.

What Venus Angelic is doing is either controversial or simply supplying a service, depending on your point of view. Many view her Living Doll videos as a form of sexual exploitation for those who follow her advice. Others say it’s just cool, and stop stressing so much, moms and dads. Venus Palermo’s own mother is by her side in all of this, quite supportive of her young daughter’s slice of fame.
