Seriously, these videos are so funny. News reporters must know, no matter how small the station, if you make a funny or slur your lines the video will go viral.

Well Annie Stensrud is no amateur. She works for CBS affiliate EYC-TV in Mankato, Minnesota. She has only been a news anchor for a few years but has interviewed big names like Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi.

However on Sunday night, it appears she had a bit too much eggnog before going live on the air.

“Today’s event featured Christmas fo… music, food and a chance to meet the Santa dog. They felt three ways for Christmas…parents and grandparents,’ Ms Stensrud adds, as she speaks over a man giving a pre-recorded interview.”

The video went viral and has gained so much attention that KEYC vice-president Dennis Wahlstrom gave a statement about it.

“Sunday night’s uncharacteristic newscast on KEYC Mankato can hardly be considered private. Nonetheless, in our judgment, the matter represents a personnel issue to be resolved internally.”

Comments on youtube also say she seems under the influence, but with cold and flu season going around, perhaps she just took too much, or a medicine that didn’t agree with her and caused her to slur her words. It does seem like she is aware she is not speaking appropriately and is trying to self correct.

Whatever the case, it made for a good laugh. I don’t always need the news to be so serious!
