Usher announced his new album, Hard II Love,’ and premiered two songs ‘Missing U’ and ‘Champions.’ You can get all the details on the multi-Grammy winning R&B superstar ‘s highly anticipated eighth album and hear the new tracks.
The new album is Usher’s first in four years and he made the announcement during his appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live.’ He’s already much in the news these days for his critically acclaimed portrayal of boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard in the movie ‘Hands of Stone,’ a biopic of the legendary Panamanian boxer Roberto Durán.
But while he may be winning accolades for his acting, that doesn’t mean that fans haven’t been eagerly awaiting a new album. Now we know the album is not far away, and it finally has a title, ‘Hard II Love.’ It’s Previously, in an interview with Ryan Seacrest he had announced the title ‘Flawed.’
At the time, he said “I find the inspiration every time I find a word: what is ‘flawed?’ It’s something that is not perfect. It’s a future relic of some sorts, to grow and blossom and gain texture.”
But just as the surprise album is getting to be almost the norm, so too are last-minute album title changes. Usher told Jimmy Kimmel, that the new album ‘Hard II Love’ is due out on September 16th noting it arrives “after some ups, some downs.” As for the album cover art, he said, “That is a bust of me done by Daniel Arsham.”
His last album was ‘Looking 4 Myself’ of 2012 and it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and garnered mostly positive reviews. In the years that followed, we weren’t completely bereft of new music from Usher, as he did released a few songs including “Good Kisser” and” “She Came To Give It To You” as well as “Chains” and most recently, a pair of singles.
As for the two new tracks, ‘Missing U’ and ‘Champion’ (which is also featured in the movie ‘Hands of Stone’) will be including on the new album, whose full track list has not yet been announced.
