Yes, it was way back in 2010 that Dunn & Brooks parted ways after their 20 years together and many classics hits including “My Maria” and “Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You.” In the years since, Ronnie Dunn embarked on a solo career. releasing his critically acclaimed self-titled debut album in 2011.

Now for the first time, the duo is back in the recording studio, not a reunion per se, but together on the new single ‘Damn Drunk.’ You can see the music video below.

Dunn told Billboard how the collaboration came about. He said, ““We were just casually talking one day and I played him the rough [cut] of what I was doing.” Continuing, he added, “And he goes, ‘Wait a minute! It needs harmony.’ I said, ‘Go to it, if you’re up to it,’ and it’s no more than that.”

He also reflected upon the reunion shows they’ve done in Las Vegas during the past couple of years at Caesars Palace with Reba McEntire entitled, ‘Reba, Brooks & Dunn: Together in Vegas.’ He said, “It’s like we’ve taken this time off and we got to know one another outside the business. We got to do some stuff together and we’ve traveled together.”

He also said that they had no plans as of now for further collaborations. “There’s no discussion about that. I’m having too much fun with this and then what we’re doing at Caesars.”

In an interview with Parade magazine, he opened up about his forthcoming album, “After listening to the record–the full compilation–someone at the label said, “I hear three elements: whiskey, the Southwest and women.”

Asked if there would be any surprises, he said, “I did an Ariana Grande song called “Tattooed Heart.” That’s going to be a curveball.”

Yes, that’s an understatement for sure. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the new album, as yet untitled, which is also confirmed to have a duet with Reba McEntire. You can hear the reunion of Brooks & Dunn in the new single ‘Damn Drunk’ below!
