Sandra Rato rose to fame on season 3 of ‘The Bachelor’ on Chanel 10 in Australia and while she did not woo over Sam Woods, she has been in the public eye ever since. Nowadays is truly a case of for better and for worst.

And yes, she is yet another celebrity who became the target of bullying and body shaming on social media. Now after having lost a total of 12kg (26.5 pounds), she opened up about her struggle and ultimate triumph in a recent interview with The Daily Mail Australia.

She said, “‘After coming off the show there is a lot of body shaming to deal with which is extremely unfortunate.” Continuing she said, “There was always something written or commented about me referring to me as the biggest girl in the last year’s Bachelor series.”

Elaborating, she added, “A lot of the time I was referred to by the public and those horrible trolls as being obnoxious and attention seeking because I was the “chubby” one in the house. And that was the only way I could get noticed, basically saying I had a low self esteem as the “fat” one and I had to be loud. Which is total bull!”

As for how she was able to lose the weight, she told the publication that her fitness routine was comprised of yoga and boxing as well asspin classes and Zumba. She further revealed that she used the Mediterranean diet and stuck mainly to fish and vegetables with an occasional sweat treat as an indulgence.

She’s recently signed to a modeling agency in Melbourne and according to her official modeling profile her height is five-foot-five (165 cm) and she weighs 129 pounds (59kg).

Fortunately Sandra Rato has been able not only to cope with the body shamers but to turn her life around through diet and exercise and, as she told the publication she continued to be “my happy, energetic, bubbly self.” Yes a success story, but once again, it’s the familiar template, as such cyberbulling continues to be the scourge of social media.
