After more than six years of dating, the couple called it quits earlier this year, putting out a joint statement on their respective Instagram accounts acknowledging their amicable split noting they “are better as best friends” and adding that they will “will always be supportive of one another.”

In her first in-depth interview since breaking up with the 36-year-old former ‘That ’70s Show’ star Wilmer Valderrama, spoke on the Elvis Duran in the Morning radio show. While not naming him by name, she made it clear that she’s prevailing.

In the interview, which you can see below, she displayed her signature candor, complete with F-bombs — dutifully bleeped out — telling the eponymous host, Elvis Duran, “I stopped giving an ‘f’ at like 15.”

Elaborating, she added, “You only get one life, so if you don’t do what makes you happy in this moment, you’re doing yourself an injustice for the rest of your life.” Continuing, she acknowledged the ongoing struggle saying, “It is a battle, you just have to find the balance every day.”

She added, “You have to not give an ‘f’ but also be sensitive — you can’t just spout your mouth off and make jokes about insensitive things just because you don’t give an ‘f.’ There’s a balance, you just have to find it.”

“I feel really amazing. I feel really great and I’m growing…My life is just really, really exciting for me because I’m growing. It’s new and fresh, and I feel free.”

While she didn’t go into details on the split, last year, in an interview with Cosmopolitan she revealed that she and Valderrama had split previously, and gotten back together. She said at the time, “The only times we ever broke up were when I was relapsing, whether it was drugs or in a bad place and rebelling against everybody, not just him.”

But this time around, it’s clearly much difference, and Demi Lovato has been immersed in her tour and in, as she puts it feeling “free.”

In fact, so “free” that she’s actually homeless! She said, “”My life is in the middle of a lot of changes right now and I don’t really have a house at this moment. She So I’m actually kind of living out of a suitcase and on the road, so my tour bus is my home right now!”

She revealed just how much she’s enjoying the tour, noting that Nick Jones is one of her “best friends” and that they “get to hang out every single day, so it just makes it that much more fum.” She went on to say, “This is probably the funnest tour I’ve ever been on. Sometimes you get on tour and you have to make it the most fun tour, but this one is accidentally becoming the best tour of my life.”

It’s getting rave reviews from fans and critics alike, and Demi Lovato herself has drawn notice for her edgy costumes on stage, which are constantly creating social media frenzy.
