Nick Jonas wowed his fans in a live concert on the ‘Today Show.’ You can see the full video and photos of the crowd pleasing performance that saw the pop music superstar celebrating the release of his new album, ‘Last Year Was Complicated.’
On the same day as the release of his third solo album, Nick Jonas took to the stage at The Plaza in Rockefeller Center. He arrived in a novel manner, riding in an iconic New York City Yellow Taxi Cab where the enormous — and, yes, screaming — audience of fans awaited him.
Attired in a black camouflage flight jacket he strode onto the outdoor stage with a handheld mike and launched into his multi-platinum hit ‘Jealous.’
The now 23-year-old former teen idol of Jonas Brothers fame has further cemented his identity as a bona fide pop music superstar. The new album just caps that off. Just hours after its midnight release it was topping iTunes charts all over the world.
After giving a spirited performance of the upbeat and infectious song, he spoke about his new album with ‘Today Show’ co-anchor Savannah Guthrie and Carson Daly and the behind-the-scenes documentary of the same title as the album.
He also opened up about the tour he’s about to embark on with fellow former Disney star Demi Lovato, saying “I’m anxious to get out and start playing these new songs and hang out with Demi.”
Later in the concert he gave a solo performance of his new hit ‘Close’ which features singer Tove Lo, as well as ‘Bacon’ which is also on the new album. Not least, he got the crowd moving with his dance track ‘Champagne Problems’ which in previous interview he has said was, as its lyrics suggest, about his breakup with former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo.
During his interview in Studio 1A, Nick Jonas reflected upon the success of his aforementioned breakthrough solo hit, ‘Jealous’ and said, “I think it was an amazing journey. It ste me up for ths next chapter in my life and I’m grateful. He also spoke how the song ‘Bacon’ came about and revealed that he was reflecting about the breakup and concluded that “you’re going to be okay and life is so good you might as well throw some bacon on it.”
