It will be RHCP’s first album since 2011’s critically acclaimed, Grammy nominated ‘I’m with You.’ Now that the full album title and tracks have been unveiled, the anticipation and excitement is only growing. The cover art, which you can see below, is nothing short of intriguing with a little girl, a bear, a racoon and a bird.

Yes, with so much time passing by, it’s hard to not call this a comeback album. After all, five years, is a long time in the ever changing world of entertainment. But the veteran alt rock band and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees are going strong, more than 30 years since their founding, with their original lineup, Chad Smith, Flea, Anthony Kiedis and Josh Klinghoffer.

And it sparks a change, as Flea recently confirmed in an interview. He said of the album, “”We’re near the end of it. Danger Mouse is producing this time, instead of Rick Rubin. Were heading into a new era and we’re really excited.”

That will be a change indeed, as Rick Rubin has been the band’s producer for more than a quarter of a century, since ‘Mother Milk’ of 1989. Flea was asked about what we can expect from this “new era” and he said, “”It’s new and different but without sacrificing the good bits of us. There are some songs we already had, and some new ones too. I can’t wait to play it live.”

Not only is there a new album, but the band is about to hit the road for a tour which will kick off in Columbus, Ohio in May and wrap in August in Leeds, UK. You can see the full itinerary below the album tracklisting.
