Her every appearance is greeted with fanfare and excitement. While the 29-year-old has faced legal setbacks in court, the support for her only continues to grow as the #FreeKesha hashtag is constantly trending on Twitter, Instagram and other social media.

German Producer and DJ Zedd was among the numerous music artists who expressed support early on. That said, no one could have anticipated the joint appearance on stage at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California which is increasingly known for such surprises.

And what a perfect song. It was Zedd’s hit single ‘True Colors,’ not to be confused with Cindi Lauper’s iconic song of the same title. The hypnotic and often mesmerizing EDM anthem has such empowering lines as “No, no no no I won’t apologize for the fire in my eyes / Let me show you my true colors.”

And it was Kesha singing those powerful words on stage, all the more powerful as we know the back story which is still ongoing, even as she continues to face setbacks, she doesn’t relent or back down on her allegations of abuse by producer Dr. Luke.

Prior to the stunning performance at Coachella, Kesha last made a public appearance at the Human Rights Campaign Nashville’s Equality Dinner where she received the organization’s Visibility Award. At the time, she delivered a powerful acceptance speech, in which she spoke of how she felt aligned with the LGBT community and went on to say, “Don’t let people scare and shame you into changing the things about yourself that make you unique. Those are the qualities that will make your life magical and special. Never deny yourself that.”

She continues to live out such words even as she’s unable to release any new music with the freedom of other artists. A case that continues to be closely watch. You can see photos and the full video of Kesha and Zedd at Coachella performing ‘True Colors’ below!
