The 43-year-old Jennifer Garner first broke her silence on her divorce from husband of 10 years, Ben Affleck in a tell-all interview in Vanity Fair, which didn’t fail to live up to his sub-headline “frank talk.” After months of silence on the subject which, as is typical, took on a tabloid and gossip world life of its own, she spoke out about the couple’s split and the aftermath of co-parenting their three young children; two daughters — Violet and Seraphina — and a son, Samuel.

In speaking with ‘Today Show’ co-anchor Savannah Guthrie — ostensibly to plug her new movie, the Patricia Riggen-directed Christian drama ‘Miracles from Heaven’ — Garner also opened up on the topic that people are clamoring to hear more about.

She said of life after the split from her husband, “You know what? We’re doing really well. The kids are great, they’ll be getting up and going to school soon. And Ben is there, and he’ll be taking them.” She went on to say, “We will make it work.”

Previously she had told Vanity Fair, “It was a real marriage. It wasn’t for the cameras. And it was a huge priority for me to stay in it. And that did not work.” She went on to say, “I didn’t marry the big fat movie star; I married him. And I would go back and remake that decision. I ran down the beach to him, and I would again.”

No confirmation of the longtime rumors of her husband’s affair with their nanny, 28-year-old Christine Ouzounian in the interview, although she had told Vanity Fair that she “had nothing to do with our decision to divorce and that she “was not a part of the equation.”

She told Guthrie in the live interview, “”It’s not easy to go through it, period. I have found going through it in the public eye, it’s just another facet of it. But for anyone, when your life shifts in any way, it’s tricky enough. But I have found people to be so warm and loving that it hasn’t been nearly as bad as you might imagine.”

Continuing, she said, “”I grew up going to church every Sunday, and Ben and I took our kids home to West Virginia to be baptized in my family’s church.

And bringing the interview, full circle she spoke of her new movie, ‘Miracles from Heaven’ a story of a couple caring for their a severely ill 10-year-old daughter. She said of it, “The thing about this film was it kind of encouraged me to reengage in just participating — not just believing — actually participating in raising my children so that they have the same background my parents gave my sisters and me.”

The live interview was broadcast a day after Ben Affleck broke silence both on the divorce and on Garner’s interview, telling The New York Times of their current relationship, “Jen’s great. She’s a great person. We’re on great terms.” And saying of the Vanity Fair interview, “She felt like she wanted to discuss it and get it out there and get it over with so she could say, “Look, I already talked about it – I don’t want to do it again.”‘
