Tina Fey and Amy Poehler mocked Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ music video on Saturday Night Live with their ‘Dope Squad’ video. With a cameo from Amy Schumer, the trio not only spoofed the now iconic clip, but also gave us a glimpse of a “squad” unlike any we’ve ever seen.

Yes, the two SNL alum hosted the Christmas episode of the show that first brought them fame, on ’30 Rock’ and ‘Parks and Recreation’ respectively, and now far beyond that in a new movie ‘Sisters.’

In the prerecorded segment brought vibrancy and some scathing commentary in the guise of a parody in the pre-recoded clip which began seemingly as the two of them were promoting their new movie, and asked a typically condescending question that reveals the double standards that are still so pervasive. “Movies, television, kids… How do you juggle it all?”

To that Poehler says, “We just have a great squad of people who help us out.”

Yes, nowadays, we’ve all heard about Taylor Swift’s famous squad comprised of super models and celebrities — including Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid and others– so naturally this prompted the interviewer to ask, “Models and starlets?”

Well, with that, not only does the interviewer get a vivid answer, but so do we and here’s where it gets biting. In a virtual shot-by-shot parody of the opening sequence of Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ with all of its CGI glory, our duo reveal their nicknames, Fey and Poeher, we learn are “Powderkeg’ and ‘Shortfuse’ respectively. Yes, both donning the sexy black leather quasi-Mad Max outfits that Taylor Swift and her co-stars wore. The original, after all, drew as much notice for its special effects as for its cast which included many of those squad members along with the likes of Cindy Crawford, Jessica Alba, and Ellie Goulding.

This being SNL Christmas episode and all we might be expecting a star-studded video. But as the introductions continue and no, we don’t see the “models” and the “starlets” but instead we’re introduced to the pair’s nannies.

Also making cameos are the “woman at the diner,” the “mammogram technician.” Also making an appearance, their mutual gynecologist! Yes, a very different squad is shaping up. And eventually we do see some celebrities, namely Gayle King and Robert Downey, Sr.

Soon our duo becomes a trio, picking up Amy Schumer. Fey says, “I did her show so she owes me one favor.” To which Schumer says, “Is this not a charity thing?” To appease her, Fey then tells her to do a “”slow motion post-apocalyptic walk.” And yes, she does just that!

Yes, the point is made and along the way, even the interviewer has had a chance to rap a few lines. And yes, this might indeed go down as one of the classic SNL shorts, such as we saw in the Andy Samberg era which gave us those infamous short in particular costarring Justin Timberlake and a certain body part in a box.

And, as the clip goes viral – after all, we knew it would — it’s begging for gifs and memes, even as it makes some important social commentary.
