Gayle King opened up about her weight loss and diet secrets and talked about her ongoing success with Weight Watchers. The CBS This Morning co-anchor been drawing notice on the red carpet as she continues to slim down.

As famous for being Oprah’s BFF as she is for being the current co-anchor of CBS This Morning, 60-year-old Gayle King has put herself in the spotlight as she furthers her weight loss journey. No, this isn’t a case of news outlets having to resort to insiders to dish supposed secrets or fitness experts to speculate on the methods, King herself has been candid from day one.

After all, not every celebrity puts pictures on Instgram of themselves looking down at the truth-telling numbers on the scale. But that’s just what she has done. The public accountability may indeed be key to her continued success. Gayle King’s height is five-foot-10 and, when she began her weight loss journey in September, she reported and documented her weight at 184.5 pounds. She’s now down to 167.45

She dazzled on the red carpet at the premiere of the Broadway revival of ‘The Color Purple’ and it was there that E!News spoke with her. She told the celebrity outlet about what her experience has been thus far with Weight Watchers.

She said, “This is the beauty of Weight Watchers—you can eat exactly what you want and I for one needed structure. But what’s great is you can eat whatever you want and you decide how you want to your points. The other day I had two pieces of cake!” She went on to say, ”

She added, “Slow and steady wins the race.” And for those who follow her on Instagram, that’s been the case. Pound by pound by fraction of a pound she has been sharing her journey, the upticks as well as the losses.

Her connection with the iconic diet program is a bit more direct than the average dieter, as Oprah Winfrey famously bought a stake in the company, and is herself following the program. But King did clarify that for her it’s a solo effort. She said, “”I’m doing it with myself—with me, myself and I. I’m not new to Weight Watchers. I’ve done it before.”
