Khloe Kardashian opened up about her estranged husband, Lamar Odom’s recovery and revealed new details of the early hours after he was found unconscious in a Las Vegas brothel. In the candid television interview, she also spoke about Caitlyn Jenner’s transition and how she first reacted to the news.

The 31-year-old ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star has a new book out, ‘Strong Looks Better Naked, and as she makes the promo rounds, she has also been opening up about the recovery of her estranged husband, former NBA star Lamar Odom. Such was the case on the Today Show, as she gave an update on his progress.

She spoke with Natalie Morales, about what it was like to get the phone call. She revealed she’d been told Lamar Odom had four hours to live. She said, “It’s a horrible call to get. “Getting to the hospital and knowing he’s in a coma and having to run these tests or make medical decisions. It’s terrifying.”

She went on to elaborate, saying, “You have to make risk-and-reward decisions. Like, okay, well, there’s an 80 percent chance if we do this operation, he might pass away. But also if we don’t do it, there’s a 90 percent chance he’ll pass away.” She added, “Like just having to make these executive decisions is really hard, I think, on anybody. So it was definitely probably one of the most emotionally stressful times ever my life.”

She also opened up about his day-to-day progress and said, “”He is learning how to walk again and learning … cognitive therapy and speech therapy. They think, like, within a year and a half to two years that, mentally, he might be fully recovered. But they don’t know.”

She also spoke about why she halted the divorce, saying, “I was expediting the divorce prior, and I’m still separated with him, but I’m just not expediting them anymore. There was no reason for it” She went on to say. “And also, [it’s] in his will that I’m always the medical adviser.” She added, “And he had no one else to make these decisions for him.”

Khloe Kardasian also opened up about her stepfather’s transition from Bruce Jenner to Caitly Jenner. She said, “When he did finally say it to us, we did feel like we were the last to know.”

She continued, saying, “Verbally, I’ve handled it the worst ’cause I’m so honest. And I’m just so, like, aggressive with the way I talk. So I’m always the one to be a bad guy, which I’m also okay with. But probably I took it the hardest.”

She also spoke about her book, and her 40-pound weight loss sh. Normally that would be front and center, as we would all clamor to find out her tips and tricks, of which she speaks of in the book. She reflected over the past year of her life and said, “You could never guess what’s going to happen tomorrow. It’s taught me how strong I really am and also how great and supportive of a family I have.” She added, “I don’t know how I’d live my life without my family. It’s the best support system in the world.”
