Shonda Rhimes’ 117-pound weight loss success is yet another exciting story from the ‘Scandal’ creator as before and after photos reveal. Yes, she is stunning on the red carpet with her slim physique and she’s opening up about how and why she lost the weight.
The 45-year-old multi-Emmy winning producer can add something else now to her string of success. From ‘Scandal’ to ‘How to Get Away with Murder’ she has been a trailblazer in television history crafting the well-rounded, intriguing and long-overdue roles for African-American women that are a far far cry from the stereotypes that have been so pervasive.
Now, instead of drawing notice for her amazing work in television, she has dazzled the world now with an inspiring weight loss story…her very own!
Yes, Shonda Rhimes has lost weight, and the transformation is nothing less than dramatic and inspiring. And her physical metamorphosis is but a reflection of her inner resolve.
During her appearance at the Shondaland #TGIT Party, held in her honor in L.A., Rhimes told Extra TV why she dropped 117 pounds, saying, “I just decided I was going to get it together and get healthy.” Referencing her three young daughters, she went on to add, “I have some little kids, and I want to be around them.”
And as it turns out, Shonda Rhimes’ weight loss secrets are really not so secretive at all. In fact, she revealed she had lost those pounds the old-fashioned way, with dieting and exercising.
She said of it, “Once I decided it wasn’t going to be fun, I lowered my expectations. It got kind of easier.” Continuing, she said, “I actually eat everything I want to eat. I tried to make it much less and smaller portions, but what’s happened is, is that you change what your palate wants. I’m suddenly craving fish and salad.”
She quipped, “It’s upsetting. I’m like, where’s my cake?”
Yes, the absence of cake and other such indulgences makes a world of difference! You can see the interview video and Shonda Rhimes’ before and after weight loss photos below!
