Yes, this ‘Drag Me Down ‘video was already trending before anyone saw it. It’s been trending on social media for days, as news of the NASA collaboration was filtering out. You can see some of the behind-the-scenes footage below, along with the video itself.

The boy band minus one member is showing no signs of lessened popularity. For those who had any doubts, well, the success, within hours, of this music video had dashed such doubts. Of course, the release of the new single itself, was a staggering success as well, setting a record at iTunes for the fastest selling…ever. That is, probably, until the next 1D single! And the band wasn’t finished setting records the song became the most streamed ever on Spotify.

Now on YouTube, to say the millions of views are racking up is an understatement. It’s just a matter of how quickly it gets to a billion views.

Well, we must call it what it is; it’s the perfect storm. It’s the curiosity over One Direction as the quartet comprised of Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson now that Zayn Malik has departed and launched his solo career.

It’s not every day a music video is shot on location at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston. And while millions are Tweeting about the video some of the official NASA Twitter accounts were also joining in on the #DragMeDownMusicVideo Tweet storm; you can see some of the Tweets below.

A perfect recruitment opportunity, after all. In absence of the excitement of a moon launch, and now in the aftermath of the Pluto fly by we’ve got One Direction showing us they’ve got the right stuff.

And in so doing, we do get to see a lot of NASA hardware. Space geeks will recognize the likes of the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility as well as the WB-57 High Altitude Research Aircraft and more.

So without delay check out the music video that’s causing such a stir on social media and the behind-the-scenes footage as well — the One Direction ‘Drag Me Down’ music video is nothing short of a phenomena!
