Salma Hayek opens up about her diet and beauty secrets and what she to say may surprise many. She’s embracing fat, both in the diet and, as curves, on the body and speaking highly of an exotic natural ingredient. Find out what the eternally desirably Mexican actress has to say on all of this!
The nearly 49-year-old Salma Hayek has been in the news frequently for her daring photo shoot for Allure magazine and for expressing her opinion on GOP candidate Donald Trump’s comments on illegal immigration and Mexico. But nothing breaks through the news cycle clutter more than an unorthodox approach to diet and beauty. Of that, she has trumped her own Trump remarks, so to speak.
She spoke to Extra TV about the virtues of bone broth, and said, “This is very important, and I make a bone broth that you can look up on the Internet, it’s very good for all your health and it’s full of collagen, when you drink it, it’s like fat.”
Well, it’s not every day you hear a Hollywood star embracing a home remedy that goes back many generations and that some might consider old school.
She also shared her enthusiasm of fatty foods, saying, “I think people are afraid of fat, and fat is your friend.”
She went on to speak about skin and beauty care product line, Nuance Salma Hayek, and zeroed in on the main component, a plant-based substance, this time; tree bark. She said “It’s the bark of a tree that’s used in Mexican hospitals for burn victims so it regenerates the skin.”
But the interview was much more than a pitch for her products, which include makeup as well as various moisturizers and anti-aging serums. She is also among the stars of several upcoming movies, including ‘The Prophet,’ an animated movie, in which she is the voice of Kamila. The movie also features the voices of Liam Neesen and John Krasinski among others. She also numbers among the movie’s producers.
Within that context she spoke of her seven-year-old daughter, Valentina, her only child with her billionaire husband, 53-year-old Francois-Henri Pinault. She said of Valentina, “She hates the movies most of her life, because most of her life her mommy was busy doing this movie from Europe, working with the America time.’
But this animated flick proved the exception to the role. She said, “When she saw the film she said, ”Mommy I’m so proud of you.'” Gratifying and high praise from a daughter!
