Miranda Lambert performed a live concert in Nashville, and made reference to her divorce from ex-husband Blake Shelton and fellow country music superstar in videos that have gone viral, which you can see right here. Find out what she had to say in the aftermath of the highly publicized split.
The 31-year-old Miranda Lambert has, of course, been in the news constantly for days since the sudden announcement that the couple was divorced and the divorce, for which Blake Shelton filed, was already finalized. The couple had been country music royalty even as they were constantly dogged by cheating rumors and other such speculation that the marriage was dissolving.
But divorce or no divorce, a music artist must carry on with life on the road. In this case, for Miranda Lambert, it was an opening night concert as part of her Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Unplugged tour.
She performed at 3rd And Lindsley Bar And Grill an iconic venue in Nashville. As she began her performance of the song ‘Dear Diamond’ she said to the audience, “Well, I’ve been living off of caffeine and sad songs lately. So we’re gonna drink some caffeine and sing sad songs.”
She’s also drawn notice for her performance that same night with Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild for an emotionally touching performance of ‘Girl Crush.’
Fairchild was just one of many country music luminaries in attendance, as People magazine reports. Other attendees included Jessi Alexander, Clare Dunn, Natalie Hemby, Courtney Cole, as well as ‘The Voice’ alum RaeLynn who was on Blake Shelton’s team on the reality TV show. You can see many of them in the Instagram picture below.
The live show was also a fundraiser for the newly announced Miranda Lambert Women Creators Fund. It provides scholarships for women students pursuing music studies at Belmont University in Nashville.
A noble effort and she has received some attention for it, along with, of course, the massive attention over the divorce. But from the many videos on YouTube and the Instagram pics, it appears to have been a fine night for all in attendance, sad songs, caffeine and all.
