The arrest of the 39-year-old Rick Ross (real name William Roberts), the Grammy-nominated rapper and founder of record label Maybach Music Group, has instantly made international news, particularly for the severity of the felony charges. In contrast, the June 10th arrest was for alleged possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor charge.
Now, having been taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service, this second Rick Ross booking photo (above) has quickly gone viral as did the previous one and both are via the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
According to WSB-TV, quoting the arrest warrant, Rick Ross was arrested in Fayette County, Georgia on outstanding warrants by the Metro Atlanta Fugitive Task Force of the U.S. Marshals Service for aggravated assault. Nadrian James, his bodyguard, was also arrested.
The alleged incident which took place two weeks prior. Ross and James are both alleged to have gotten into a physical fight with a contract worker on his property, a mansion near Atlanta previously owned by prizefighter Evander Holyfied. They are alleged to have pistol-whipped the man and to have left him with severe injuries to his neck and jaw and chipping two of his teeth.
They are also alleged to have held him against his will on the property, and thus are additionally facing kidnapping charges.
Both Rick Ross and Nadrian James have been charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery and remain held until a bond hearing.
