The news of the arrest of the now 26-year-old who is enshrined in memory as a 10-year-old child actor has gone international and such is often the case with a celebrity arrests in general and a child star’s arrest in particular. Thus the search for the Jake Lloyd booking photo, above, via the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office.
As for details of the particular arrest, according to TMZ, quoting police authorities, Lloyd took deputies on a high-speed chase when they began to pursue his vehicle. The site reports that as he was driving recklessly at high speeds he was passing cars on double yellow line.
He then lost control of the vehicle when it ran off the road, and he crashed through a fence and struck several trees in a wooded area. Deputies arrested him for reckless driving, failure to stop, resisting arrest and driving without a license.
The actor was last seen on the big screen in ‘Madison’ in 2005. He rose to fame at the young age of 10 with his portrayal of the young Anakin Skywalker in the 1999 ‘Star Wars: The Phantom Menace,’ a prequel of the original 1970s-1980s ‘Star Wars’ trilogy. He had also appeared in the 1996 movie,’Jingle all the Way.’
The story is developing, but for now the former child actor is once again into the news. In recent years has given interviews — such as the the one you can see below — expressing his displeasure with ‘Star Wars’ and the fame it brought him. Unfortunately he’s now got a resurgence of fame, the juxtaposition of ‘Star Wars’ and “child actor” and “arrest” instantly produces international headlines. To say the least, the story of Jake Lloyd’s arrest and the mugshot search are going viral.
