‘This Summer’s Gonna Hurt Like A Mother—–r’ music video has arrived for Adam Levine and Maroon 5’s hit single. The frontman shows us his backside and that alone has been enough to cause the video to go viral. Check it out in its entirety and find out what all the fuss is about!
Maroon 5 and Adam Levine are continuing their tradition of racy and innovative music videos. With an unprintable title — but thankfully a “clean” version and a radio-friendly cut — the song in either form seems destined to become a summer smash hit. We need only harken back a few years to Cee-Lo Green’s ‘Forget You’ which had an alternately more colorful and forceful title.
It’s not the first time Adam Levine has raised eyebrows. He and his wife, the supermodel and Victoria’s Secret Angel Behati Prinsloo made ‘Animals’ quite animalistic, shall we say. It was just a reminder of why and how it was that Adam Levine was once crowned People magazine’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive.’
This time around, all uproar is that the frontman shows us his backside at the 28 second mark. The entire video, which he himself co-directed with photographer Travis Schneider, is shot in black and white one take. It runs more than five minutes and is shot on location in the backstage regions of Wembley Arena in London.
The band shot the video during their series of concerts at the venue and for that reason alone, for the curious, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the labyrinth of dressing rooms and catwalks that the concertgoer normally does not see. It’s some impressive camera work and captures our attention even beyond that momentary flash of flesh.
As for the song itself, it is catching on around the world and an edgy video such as this will surely help it inch its way up the singles charts.
