The 23-year-old four-time Grammy winner has become one of our biggest music stars in a very short time with his signature hit ‘Stay with Me’ which has topped charts all over the world, and has been covered by many artists and celebrities from Kelly Clarkson to Vin Diesel.

As he has been candid about his sexuality, coming out as gay even as his album was released and winning raves reviews and chart-topping success, he has also been candid about his early struggles, in coping with being bullied both for being gay and for being overweight.

He had publicly expressed the desire to lose weight before the 57th Grammys. Now just a few weeks later, he has achieved that goal.

Yes, Sam Smith has lost weight, and looks happy foremost.

He has been posting new photos on Instagram (you can see some of these below) revealing his weight loss success. And, yes, it begs the question. How has he had such a rapid transformation? One certainly hopes it has been a healthy journey and the result of a crash diet.

He broke his silence on the matter on Instagram, saying that a celebrity British nutritionist was indeed the secret to his success. He said, “Three weeks ago I met a woman who has completely changed my life. Amelia Freer has helped me lose over a stone in 2 weeks and has completely transformed my relationship with food.”

He went on to speak of her methods, detailed in her bestselling book, “Eat. Nourish. Glow,” and said, “It’s not even about weight loss it’s about feeling happy in yourself.” He continued, and thanked for “making me feel so happy inside and out.”

For her part Amelia Freer told GMA (video below) of the methodology and the rationale saying, “For me the key is about it being rea. Getting back in the kitchen, cooking from scratch, making sure they are not relying on junk processed convenience food.”

The results speak for themselves as you can see below. As his career continues to soar he adds a new dimension in becoming a positive role model for healthy eating and a more positive approach to food than the tyranny of dieting.
