Meghan Trainor has premiered her music video for ‘Dear Future Husband’ and announced her MTrain Tour. The “All About That Bass” singer is clearly going strong in her career with no plans to be a one-hit wonder.
Yes, the 21-year-old pop music star rose to fame with the now ubiquitous ‘All About that Bass’ which topped charts around the world and gave her international fame. With spirited lyrics and a catchy melody that inspired untold numbers of covers and viral videos. It was for many not just another pop tune, but an inspiring anthem of body acceptance with such lines as “It’s pretty clear I ain’t no size 2 / But I can shake it, shake it like I’m supposed to do.”
Now in the aftermath there’s always the question, what’s next? Sure, we had the major label debut album, ‘Title,’ which was released in January, and along with it, her second official single, ‘Lips Are Moving.’ While the song charted well — peaking at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 — it did not catch fire in quite the way as ‘All About that Bass.’
This time around, here’s yet another single with a catchy title and melody; it’s ‘Dear Future Husband.’ Meghan Trainor debuted the music video on the Today Show live on The Plaza. She also revealed that she is going on tour. Entitled the MTrain Tour, it is kicking off on July 3 in Atlantic City.
With a title like that, she was asked by Today Show co-anchor Matt Lauer if she was “looking” to which she said, “No, I’m married to my career right now.” She added that the song was a “head’s up” for the future.
