Rihanna and Kanye West were a sensation a day before the Super Bowl continuing an emerging tradition of memorable musical performances during that hallowed weekend. DIRECTV’s Super Saturday Night is a part of that tradition and year after year it’s been a much-anticipated night with a major headline performer. In the case of last year, we had not one but two headliners performing, Jay Z and Beyonce, bringing their On the Run tour to the Super Saturday Night.

That honor fell to Rihanna this year. Yes, it’s been a while since Rihanna has released an album but she’s always a welcome performer at anyone’s party. While she’s not released any singles, she’s been a stalwart and sexy addition on many other artists’ tracks, notably, Shakira’s ‘Can’t Remember to Forget You’ and Eminem’s ‘The Monster.’

For his part, Kanye West has been much in the news with his new song, ‘Only One,’ a collaboration with Beatles legend Paul McCartney, as the world awaits his new, as yet untitled album.

Rihanna performed many of her signature hits, including “Umbrella,” which is one of the biggest hits of the 2000s, as well as “Rude Boy,” “Stay,” and “We Found Love.”

Once she brought out the Kanye West — surprising the audience enormously — the two music superstars collaborated in performances of such classics as “All of the Lights,” “Run This Town” as well as the remix of “Diamonds.”

Kanye West gave some solo performances as well, and his set-list took the audience through a mini-tour of his extensive catalogue ranging from his iconic hit “Jesus Walks,” to “Black Skinheads,” from his Yeesuz album, and finally, not least, the aforementioned collaboration with Paul McCartney, “Only One.”

Now we can look back at those moments in time and relive them thanks to YouTube, as fans have dutifully posted numerous videos. But no need to search, as you can see the video highlights from the Rihanna and Kanye West Super Bowl performance that are causing a stir below!
